Scottishcraft.Com

Scottishcraft.com was originally setup in 2006 as an online shop selling handmade craft products from around Scotland.

In 2009 the site was re-launched as a portal for Scotland’s Art, Craft and Design communities.

The site now allows makers and gallery owners to register on the site and create a page of their own for their business or organisation. The business owners also have the ability to pull in products from third party online shops such as Etsy.com. This is great because it improves the attractiveness of the pages to search engines and provides an additional shop front for the artists.

Plans for 2010 for the site include further integration with social networking sites such as Twitter and Flickr, the latter providing an online ‘gallery’ function for the artists. We also plan to add the ability for the users to upload news items to the site.

As with all the sites we build, we set out to make the site attractive to visitors and search engines through good design and ever changing content.

Ultimately the purpose of the site is to market the businesses of our members and we developed the site with this in mind.
