Propeller Multimedia

Propeller Multimedia is one of the UK’s leading producers and distributors of speech and language therapy rehabilitation software.

Several years ago we carried out a re-design of their website and produced templates that the company could use to maintain the site themselves through Dreamweaver. Over time the site has grown and so become more difficult to maintain.

This year we have begun a project to transfer the site into a content management system that they can update themselves online.

We have also added the ability to add news, events and testimonials to the site with latest items displayed in the navigation bars of the site.

Social Media

As well as the structural site changes we have made, we have worked with the company on a strategy to promote themselves through social media channels. This has included:

• The creation of an online community site for Speech and Language Therapists from around the world
• Twitter accounts which are being integrated into the site
• Flickr and YouTube accounts to which the company’s videos and photos be maybe uploaded and also embedded into the site
• Company blog which will also be displayed through the site

These new channels provide a low-cost method of raising awareness of Propeller among relevant communities.

By integrating the content into the website it becomes more attractive to search engines as well as being more interesting for visitors to the site.

A key achievement of the project has been to better portray the skills, knowledge and experience of the company to their customers.

A later phase of this project will look at updating the design and structure of the site in line with current accessibility standards. This will be a relatively simple process as all content is now stored in a content management system, separated from the design.
